Bananas warmed in a decadent butterscotch sauce and served with vanilla ice cream. A satisfyingly sweet way to end any meal.
2 medium sized firm bananas1/4 cup (50 mL) butter1/2 cup (125 mL) Smucker's® Topping (Butterscotch)Pinch ground cinnamonPinch ground nutmeg1 tsp (5 mL) lemon juice2 scoops vanilla ice cream2 tbsp (30 mL) chopped pecans (optional)
1. Cut bananas into diagonal slices.2. Melt butter in a large frying pan. Add 1 tsp (5 mL) Smucker's® Topping, cinnamon, nutmeg and lemon juice. Stir over low heat until bubbly. Place sliced banana in frying pan and cook over low heat until golden brown, turning once, about 10 minutes.3. In a small saucepan, heat remaining Smucker's® Topping over low heat. Remove fried bananas from frying pan and arrange slices in a flower pattern on serving plate. Top with hot Smucker's® Topping and serve with ice cream. Sprinkle with pecans if desired.
1. Recipe can also be prepared using Smucker's® Caramel Sundae Syrup.
