Trifle is a versatile dessert that can be made with almost any combination of fruits including strawberries and raspberries.
2 cups (500 mL) fresh strawberries, stem removed (frozen may be substituted)1 cup (250 mL) fresh raspberries (frozen may be substituted)1 tbsp (15 mL) grated orange zest1 prepared Angel Food Cake1 cup (250 mL) Smucker's® Strawberry Jam1 cup (250 mL) Smucker's® Microwave Topping (Hot Fudge) Whipped topping or ice cream as desired
1. Slice the strawberries in half and toss in a bowl with raspberries and orange zest. Set aside.2. Slice angel food cake into 1” (2.5 cm) thick pieces. Place 1/3 of the angel food cake pieces along the bottom and sides of a trifle bowl. Spread the jam on cake. Add half the fruit mixture.3. Repeat with another 1/3 layer of angel food cake pieces, remaining jam and fruit. Cover with rest of cake.4. Place bottle of Smucker's® Microwave Topping in the microwave and heat for 30-45 seconds. Cover cake with the heated Smucker's® Microwave Topping.5. To serve, scoop out a serving, garnish with fresh fruit and whipped topping or ice cream as desired.
