Your guests will think you’ve spent hours on these pinwheels. The peach jam and cream cheese offsets the cayenne heat nicely.
1 package (250 g) cream cheese, softened1 red pepper, seeded and chopped2 green onions, chopped1/3 cup (75 mL) Smuckers Pure Peach Jam1 tsp (5 mL) grated orange rind1/2 tsp (2 mL) cayenne pepper5 large flour tortillas2/3 cup (150 mL) chopped toasted pecans
1. In bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Stir in red pepper, onions, jam, orange rind and cayenne. 2. Spread about 1/2 cup (125 mL) of cheese mixture on each tortilla, then sprinkle each with 2 tbsp (30 mL) nuts. 3. Roll up tortillas in jelly-roll fashion and wrap in plastic wrap. 4. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight. 5. To serve: unwrap and slice into 1/2 inch (1 cm) thick slices, discarding ends.
