Zesty Marmalade and Cream Cheese Turnovers

Ingredients
- Filling:
- ½ cup (125mL) Smucker’s® Pure Orange Marmalade
- 1 tbsp (15mL) orange zest
- ½ lb (250g) cream cheese, softened
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup (50mL) Robin Hood® Original All Purpose Flour
- 3 tbsp (45mL) sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 tsp (10mL) water
- 1 lb (500g) puff pastry, thawed
- Flour for rolling
- Coarse sugar for garnish, optional
Directions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C). Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper. Filling:
- Combine marmalade, zest and cream cheese in bowl of electric mixer. Beat until combined, about 30 seconds. Add remaining filling ingredients and beat until combined, about 30 seconds. Set aside.
- Meanwhile, combine egg and water in small bowl. Set aside.
- Divide puff pastry in ½ and roll each portion on well floured surface to 14” - 15” (35cm - 38cm) square. Cut into 9 (5”/12cm) squares. Trim if necessary to form even square. Place on prepared baking sheets. Place 1-2 tbsp (15-30mL) filling in centre of each square. Brush two edges of pastry with egg mixture. Fold remaining two edges over to form a triangle. Push down to seal and then crimp edges with a floured fork. Poke holes in top of turnovers with floured fork to allow steam to escape. Brush tops with remaining egg mixture and sprinkle with coarse sugar if using. Bake in preheated oven, 18-20 minutes, until golden brown. Let cool about 10 minutes.
