Ingredients
- 1 lb (500 g) ground beef, pork, chicken or turkey
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) Robin Hood® or Old Mill® Oats
- 2 tbsp (30 mL) onion soup mix
- 2 tbsp (30 mL) vegetable or canola oil
- 1 cup (250 mL) Crazy For Glaze
- 1/4 cup (50 mL) chicken or beef stock
Directions
- Combine beef, egg, oats and onion soup mix. Knead mixture together. Shape into 1” (2.5 cm) balls and place on baking sheet lined with waxed paper or parchment paper.
- Heat oil on medium-high heat in a large, deep nonstick skillet. Add meatballs and cook for 3-5 minutes or until brown. Do this in two batches if necessary. Return all meatballs to skillet.
- Combine Crazy For Glaze and stock. Add to meatballs and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer gently, uncovered for 10-15 minutes or until meatballs are cooked.
Tips
- Serve this with rice for a main course.
- To serve as an appetizer, pile the meatballs on a platter with the skewers coming out at all angles.
- Use ready-made frozen meatballs for a quick alternative
