Butterscotch Banana Blossoms

  • 2 medium sized firm bananas
  • 1/4 cup (50 mL) butter
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) Smucker's® Butterscotch Flavoured Topping
  • Pinch ground cinnamon
  • Pinch ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) lemon juice
  • 2 scoops vanilla ice cream
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) chopped pecans (optional)


  1. Cut bananas into diagonal slices.
  2. Melt butter in a large frying pan. Add 1 tsp (5 mL) Smucker's Butterscotch Flavoured Topping, cinnamon, nutmeg and lemon juice. Stir over low heat until bubbly. Place sliced banana in frying pan and cook over low heat until golden brown, turning once, about 10 minutes.
  3. In a small saucepan, heat remaining Smucker's Butterscotch Flavoured Topping over low heat. Remove fried bananas from frying pan and arrange slices in a flower pattern on serving plate. Top with hot Smucker's Butterscotch Flavoured Topping and serve with ice cream. Sprinkle with pecans if desired.
